I can remember, as a young boy
Something distracting me, on the TV
He had a Wild Sound, He was so Downtown,
And when he moved he shook the World
Her name was Sara, and she would listen,
To my Guitar, and all my Wild Dreams
She was Cherubic, down to her Bare feet
I was her King and she was my Girl
I Dyed my Hair Black
She was 17
I was her Bad Ass
She was my High School Queen
She took it to the edge
In my Cadillac
Drivin’ to Memphis
With her ‘Hero in Black’
My little Sara
She was my Good Luck Charm
I was her Teddy Bear
When I was in her arms
She Love Me Tender
And I surrender
Our Burnin’ love triggered Fire alarms
I Dyed my Hair Black
She was 18
She went from High School
To Maternity
She took the Secret
In my Cadillac
Drivin’ to Memphis
With her ‘Hero in Black’
Bridge:
Under the Moon & Under the Stars
Under a Tennessee sky
I played the blues on Beale St.
She played the Memphis Wife
I Dyed my Hair Black
She was 25
I had my up’s n down’s
She kept my dream alive
I played my 3 sets
In every Bar n Dive
All over Memphis
I Dye my Hair Black
Now she’s 35
Been almost 40 years
Since the King has died
We never looked back
We had no regrets
Drivin’ to Memphis
Our ‘little secret’
He dyes his Hair Black
He wants my Cadillac
His name is Aaron
He plays my Guitar
He’s only 17, but when he plays, HE SHAKES THE WORLD
